A Taste of the Poetry

write you away

The coffee table remains topless, bare.
As the glass lay shattered by your fury
I saw razor thin slivers of past beauty
Reflected refracted ruins of our now.

The tragedy is not that you were there
But that I was. Now, I refuse to fall.
I refuse to drown in the alcohol

teemed rivers of your madness, your sadness.
I write to say this is me. This is me.
Not that shrivelled grey victim of a crime
Played in black and white silent movie time
In front of a crowd blinded by colour.

I wrote you onto a million pages
I write because I have no other way
I will write till you are carried away
Sinking in the ink. Disappearing. Gone.
