Welcome to the website of R J Samuel.

RJ has published five novels which cross genres and cultures. Her first novel HEART STOPPER was published in January 2012, and is a medical thriller about an Indian-Irish woman working in a pacemaker clinic in Galway who uncovers a frightening secret. Her second novel FALLING COLOURS – The Misadventures of a Vision Painter published in June 2012, is based on a unique concept, that of the only female practitioner of a profession based in India, Vision Painting, with a gift for painting people’s hopes into reality. Falling Colors was followed by her third novel, CASTING SHADOWS – The Further Misadventures of a Vision Painter, which further explored the concept and secrets of the Vision Painting profession. The Vision Painter series received an Honorable Mention in the 2013 Rainbow Awards. Her fourth novel, A PLACE SOMEWHERE, was published on 11th March 2014. It is a romantic suspense novel about online deception and it was a finalist for both the Ann Bannon Popular Choice Award and the Tee Corinne Cover Design Award at the GCLS Annual Conference in 2015. Her latest novel, AN OUTSIDER INSIDE , was released on July 5th 2017.

RJ SAMUEL WINS ANN BANNON POPULAR CHOICE AWARD 2018!

In amazing news, RJ Samuel won the ANN BANNON POPULAR CHOICE AWARD 2018. She was not at the awards ceremony, held in Las Vegas on July 8th, so missed out on what would have been a once in a lifetime experience. RJ wrote and recorded an acceptance speech –

December 2020 Announcing the release of RJ’s latest story 

Sara and the Ukulele is the new short story from RJ and is now available free on Smashwords and Amazon.  The last place Sara thought she would end up when she died was…well, to say more would give away the story. In this 8k word short story, RJ Samuel has once again woven together different worlds in this sweet, magical, and unusual love story.

RJ was interviewed by Elizabeth Anderson for  the Sandra Moran Radio Book Club on The Tenth Voice on KKFI 90.1 FM.

July 5th 2017 – Release of AN OUTSIDER INSIDE!

RJ Samuel attended the GCLS Annual Conference in July 2017 where she launched her latest novel, AN OUTSIDER INSIDE and participated in the panel on ‘Colliding Identities’ as well as moderating and reading in Author Spotlights.

RJ Samuel attended the GCLS Annual Conference in July 2016 and moderated the panel on ‘Women of Color in Lesbian Literature’ and was a panelist on the Just One More Chapter – The Art of Keeping a Book in a Reader’s Hands’panel as well as a panel discussing the representation of diversity in lesbian fiction -‘Where Am I?’. She also co-presented the Debut Author award in the ‘Goldies’.

On March 19th, 2015, RJ was the featured Local Author at Another Read Through3932 N Mississippi Ave, Portland, OR 97227 United States.
